Paper and Ephemera
Printed and written material that survived because someone found it worth keeping. Memorial cards, postcards, posters, collector's albums, magazines, and flyers, objects originally made for temporary use and for that very reason now telling something about the world they came from. The collection includes religious printed matter and devotionalia, historical posters and advertising material, postcards and photographic portraits, and a growing archive of queer printed matter from the twentieth century. Each piece is a document: of a person, a moment, a movement, or a vanished world.
