Wall Plates and Tiles
Ceramic work for the wall has a long tradition in Europe, from hand-painted Delftware and majolica to architectural tiles with historical scenes. The collection includes plates, tiles, and wall reliefs from the Netherlands, Belgium, France, and Spain, spanning periods from the seventeenth to the twentieth century. Objects made to hang, and through that, to hold a particular relationship with the space around them.
