Lamps and Lanterns

Lighting in this collection spans a wide range of materials and periods: oil lamps and paraffin lamps in copper and tin, industrial factory lamps from the early twentieth century, glass table lamps, and portable lanterns for indoor and outdoor use. Each object was made for a specific purpose in a specific context, and still carries that purpose visibly. Electricity has been added or not — the object stands on its own.
