Magazines are snapshots of an era: they show what an editorial team published at a given moment, in image and text, for an audience that read them and then passed them on or threw them away. The magazines in this collection have escaped that fate. The selection brings together photography journals, art magazines, fashion publications, and cultural periodicals that have outgrown their original function as topical reading and are now read for what they are: period documents with their own editorial temperature. Many issues are no longer available in print.
