Return policy
Right of withdrawal
You have the right to withdraw from your order within 14 days of receipt without providing any reason.
The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the date on which you or a third party designated by you, other than the carrier, acquired physical possession of the goods.
How to exercise the right of withdrawal
To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must notify us within 14 days of receipt.
You can do so by email at hello@thecollectionist.nl by making an unequivocal statement.
Product return
After notifying us of your withdrawal, you have another 14 days to return the product to us.
The product must be carefully packaged and in the same condition in which you received it, with all corresponding parts or documentation.
Many items in our collection are unique, fragile, or difficult to replace. The risk of the return shipment rests with the sender. We recommend that returns be sent well protected and insured.
The product must be packaged so that it arrives undamaged. Any damage caused during the return shipment is the responsibility of the sender.
You may examine and evaluate the product as you would in a physical store. If the product has been used more than necessary or has been damaged, we may apply a value reduction.

Return costs
The direct costs of the return are borne by the customer.
We do not refund return shipping costs.
For international returns, these costs can be considerable and vary depending on the country and the carrier.
Refund
After a proper withdrawal, we will refund the full purchase price, including the original standard shipping costs.
We will issue the refund within a maximum of 14 days from the receipt of your withdrawal notification. We may withhold the refund until we have received the product or until you have proven that you have shipped it, whichever occurs first.
The refund will be issued using the same payment method used in the original transaction, unless otherwise agreed.
Exceptions to the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply to:
- products made to the customer's specifications
- clearly personalized products
- products that cannot be returned for hygiene or health reasons and whose seal has been broken
When a product cannot be returned, this will be clearly indicated on the product page.
Damage during transport
Check your order immediately upon receipt.
Any transport damage or irregularity must be reported by email within 48 hours of receipt, preferably with clear photographs of the item, the packaging, and the shipping label.
