A metal tea tin by the French brand Plant'Asia, made for organic black tea with a Russian flavour profile from Darjeeling, dating from the late twentieth or early twenty-first century. The rectangular tin features a vivid illustration of Saint Basil's Cathedral in Moscow, framed by folkloristic ornaments and a gilded border. The tin carries markings including "Origine Inde, Darjeeling" and certifications for organic farming and Fairtrade. Light signs of use and wear to the edges.
Plant'Asia was a French tea brand importing organic and Fairtrade-certified teas from India and other origins. Their packaging was distinguished by a strongly illustrative visual language, drawing on the culture of the tea's origin or its intended flavour destination. This tin, evoking the Russian tea tradition while referencing Darjeeling provenance, is a characteristic example of that approach: a functional object that quietly carries a small chapter of trade history.
