This Schimmelpenninck Duet tin is a rectangular metal tobacco tin, made for packaging Schimmelpenninck Duet tobacco. The design combines typography, illustrations, and brand iconography characteristic of early- to mid-20th-century tobacco packaging design.
The tin clearly displays the Schimmelpenninck name and the designation Duet , and was produced for the international market, as evidenced by the multilingual text and decorative elements. Such tins were used as both disposable and reusable packaging and are now especially popular as collectors' items.
This example shows normal signs of wear consistent with age and use, and provides a good example of historical tobacco packaging from this period.
