Postcard with an illustrated portrait of Princess Beatrix as a child, signed Ingel and dated 1945. The portrait shows her frontally, with short blonde hair, a light blue bow and a white collar, against a plain light background. The card is a colour reproduction after a drawing and was published by J. Philip Kruseman in The Hague, under number I.K. 145. The card is in good condition.

The card is part of a signed portrait series of the Royal House that the publisher Kruseman issued in the first post-war years, drawn by Ingel, with companion cards showing Princess Juliana and Prince Bernhard. The drawing follows a photographic portrait of Princess Beatrix from 1945, recognisable in the hair, the bow and the collar; in that year she was seven years old. The practice of making an idealised drawing after a known press photograph was common for this type of issue and places the card in the register of the collector's portrait rather than documentary photography.
