Cocaine is the story of a young man who flees to Paris in search of fame, fortune and pleasure. Pitigrilli's classic novel chronicles the comedy and tragic path of the young man. Tito Arnaudi is a sophisticated hero with several mistresses whom he maintains at the same time. Tito, a failed medical student, becomes a journalist in Paris, where he investigates cocaine shelters and invents sensational scandals and gruesome deaths, which he sells to newspapers, while his own life becomes more absurd than his false press releases.
