Original Nestler No. 21 slide rule with logarithmic scales, supplied with its original case. These classic calculating instruments were used in the 20th century by engineers, technicians, and students for complex calculations, long before electronic calculators appeared.
The slide rule is equipped with multiple scales for, among other things, multiplication, division, roots, and technical calculations. On one side, there is a transparent window with an indicator for accurate reading. Instructions and conversion tables are also printed on the scale, which is characteristic of professional technical models from this period.
Nestler was a German manufacturer of high-quality measuring and calculating instruments and was known for the accuracy and quality of their slide rules. This item comes with its original protective cover, which shows clear signs of wear but still protects the instrument well.
Today, slide rules are popular among collectors of scientific instruments, vintage office objects, and technical memorabilia. In addition, it makes for a particularly decorative object for a workspace, study, or design interior.
