Decorative brass bowl on a low foot, made from machine-spun brass sheet. The inside is richly decorated with a symmetrical pattern of floral and paisley-like motifs, executed in gold-colored engraving and turquoise-green infill on a deep dark ground. The decoration is etched and then colored in, a technique widely used in the Kashmir region.
The bowl rests on a separately attached foot ring and has a uniform wall thickness, consistent with mass production for the export market in the mid-20th century. The brass surface shows a warm sheen with slight signs of use and small scratches, consistent with age and use. No cracks, dents, or structural damage observed.
