Wooden cross of San Damiano

Beautiful wooden cross of San Damiano, reproduction, not painted on wood.

Also known as the Cross of Saint Francis of Assisi. At n the time of Francis, San Damiano was an abandoned chapel. In 1205, Francis was addressed in the dilapidated church by the Crucified One who hung here: "Restore my house, which as you can see has fallen into disrepair." The cross of San Damiano now hangs in the Basilica of Saint Clare in Assisi.
