A warm and carefully composed family portrait from the late 19th century, taken in the studio of František Böger in Mladá Boleslav , a town north of Prague.
The family poses in the classic cabinet card style, with the parents seated and their daughter and son standing behind them.
The restrained look and neat clothing reflect the bourgeois dignity of the time, while the subtle decor with painted landscape and stone balustrade is typical of Austro-Hungarian studio photography .
The reverse is beautifully printed in gold tones with ornate lettering and medals — characteristic of photographers who proudly displayed their prowess.
