A vintage French candy tin for Les Véritables Bêtises de Cambrai, produced by the historic brand Martin-Martine from Cambrai, northern France. The tin features a graphic design in red and cream with the brand name on the lid, flanked by the two Martin-Martine character figures, and a decorative border with repeating motifs along the sides. Visible signs of use throughout: scratches and light wear to the printed surface, consistent with age and handling.

Bêtises de Cambrai are traditional striped mint sweets that have been produced in the northern French city of Cambrai since the nineteenth century. Their accompanying tins became collectible objects over the course of the twentieth century, sought after for their bold graphic design and the regional pride they embody. Martin-Martine was among the best-known producers, distinguished by the recurring duo of namesake characters on every tin. This example is a tangible piece of French popular heritage.
