Optical instruments belong to the most refined category of European and Japanese industrial heritage. The collection includes analogue cameras, binoculars, microscopes, rangefinders, and related instruments from the twentieth century, from German precision optics of the 1950s and 60s to Japanese SLR cameras from the analogue era. These are objects in which mechanical quality and aesthetic form are rarely far apart.
