Heavy, robust and surprisingly elegant, this original English hot water bottle by Pearson & Co. of Whittington Moor (Chesterfield) was made from salt-glazed stoneware around 1930–1945 .

With its subdued sheen, rounded cap, and soft color, this type is one of the most iconic examples of early 20th-century industrial pottery. The jug bears the impressed factory stamp "PEARSON & Co. WHITTINGTON MOOR – CHESTERFIELD" and the capacity 3 PT (3 pint ≈ 1.7 liter).

The original ceramic screw cap with rubber gasket is still present, which is rare.
These hot water bottles were used in homes, hospitals, and even military field hospitals before the advent of rubber hot water bottles. They retained heat for hours and are now popular as decorative objects or conversation pieces in vintage or industrial interiors.
