Vintage English Tin - Tavern Scene & Silhouettes - Old Masters Style (1950s)

Sale price$25.00 AUD

An atmospheric vintage tin that brings the coziness of a 17th-century inn to your interior. Although the image has a typically Dutch feel (in the style of the Old Masters), this tin was likely produced in England in the 1950s.

The lid depicts a lively scene of gentlemen in wigs and three-cornered hats sitting at a table, drinking and smoking, served by a landlady. It's a classic image of the "good life" of yesteryear.

What makes this tin extra special are the sides. They're decorated with beautiful black silhouettes on a gold background, depicting similar drinking and cooking scenes. An artistic detail you don't often see!

The bottom of the tin is marked "Container Made in Great Britain." The tin has a beautiful, weathered patina that emphasizes its vintage character.

Decor: Inn scene with silhouettes on the side.
