This reproduction of the artwork of Saint Cecilia by Carlo Dolci was made by the famous publishing house Römmler & Jonas from Dresden and comes in a beautiful frame!
The holy virgin and martyr Caecila lived in Rome in the 2nd or 3rd century. Since the late Middle Ages she has been the patroness of musicians, church musicians, choirs, organists and organ builders. Her feast day is on November 22.
Saint Cecilia is usually depicted with the organ. In the Netherlands she is also often depicted with a falcon, a typical attribute to indicate her noble origins. The Santa Cecilia Organ Museum in Massa Marittima, Tuscany, is named after her.
