Cookie information
We use cookies and similar technologies to ensure our webshop functions properly, improve your experience, and—with your permission—analyze site usage and conduct (re)marketing. You can always adjust your preferences via the "Cookie preferences" button in the footer.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit our website. We use both session cookies (which expire once you close your browser) and persistent cookies (which remain stored for a longer period or until you delete them). Cookies can be placed by us (first-party cookies) or by third parties (third-party cookies).
Who places cookies?
In addition to The Collectionist, our service providers also place cookies, for example for hosting and checkout (Shopify), reviews (e.g. Trustpilot), wishlist (e.g. Swishlist), shipping and tracking services (e.g. Sendcloud), analytics (e.g. Google Analytics) and social media/advertisements (e.g. Meta/Pinterest) when you give permission for this.
Which categories do we use?
- Essential (always on) — technically required for the site to function: shopping cart and checkout, language/country selection, security, and cookie consent. Without these cookies, the shop won't function properly.
- Preferences/Function — remembers choices such as language, login status, or wishlist. Improves usability but is not strictly necessary.
- Analytics — Helps us understand how the site is used (e.g., page views, origin). We use aggregated reporting to improve the shop.
- Marketing — showing and measuring advertisements or social integrations; can be used to build (anonymized) profiles and show you relevant ads on other sites.
Legal basis
For essential cookies, we rely on our legitimate interest in ensuring the site is secure and functional (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). For preferences, analytics, and marketing, we ask for your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw or adjust this consent at any time via Cookie Preferences in the footer.
Retention periods
Session cookies expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies have a limited lifespan (typically 1–24 months) or until you delete them. Retention periods for third-party cookies are managed by the respective party.
Manage cookie preferences
Click Cookie Preferences in the footer to enable/disable categories. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings; this may affect the functionality of our site.
Changes
We may update this statement if our services or legislation changes. You can see the latest update at the top of the page.
