The lid bears an image of Flipje with the text \"Ik garandeer kwaliteit\" (I guarantee quality), and around the rim of the lid runs the notice \"Deze verpakking is niet geschikt om langen tijd te bewaren\" (This packaging is not suitable for long-term storage), a detail that says something about the preservation techniques of the time. The exterior shows a fine patina with signs of use consistent with its age. The interior shows rust, consistent with seventy years of use.
